A message from the founder
Raaf was born from my own frustrating experience when buying a house in England. At the same time, I was also trying to sell my flat. Without diving into the details of that traumatic process, one feeling remained constant throughout the entire journey, on both sides, as a seller and a buyer: a complete lack of transparency, coupled with a sense of abandonment. I had no control, no visibility, and, therefore, no way to plan ahead. Worst of all, I had no one to turn to. I was shocked that, in this day and age, residential transactions are still handled in such an outdated way. There's nothing wrong with tradition, but why should we have to suffer through it? For months – if not an entire year – I searched for an answer to what seemed like an obvious question. Selling or buying a home shouldn't be a painful experience. But how could that change? After countless conversations with family, friends and even strangers, the idea for Raaf was born. And it was founded on a clear mission: At Raaf, our mission is to empower sellers and buyers with full control and transparency over their property journey.
Another thing that kept bothering me was the notion that sellers and buyers don’t want to be in charge of what might be the biggest transaction of their lives. But then I realized: that’s not the issue. The issue is that we’ve never been given the option to be in charge. Until now. I hope you enjoy the journey. I hope we deliver on our mission.
